At the end of 2010, the Australian Research Council (ARC) announced new advisory council members. Out of the ten academic advisors, half have an ASSH background, increasing ARC’s ability to assess research support in this field.
DASSH would like to welcome the new members including Professor of History and Provost & Deputy Vice-Chancellor at University of Sydney, Professor Stephen Garton; Vice-Chancellor at La Trobe University (and previously a Lecturer in Social and Economic History), Professor Paul Johnson; and Dean of the Faculty of Creative Arts at University of Wollongong, Professor Amanda Lawson.They join continuing members, Emeritus Professor David Siddle, ex Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Research) at the University of Queensland and a Fellow of the Academy of Social Sciences, and Professor Peter Buckskin, Dean of College of Indigenous Education & Research, University of South Australia.
