National Meeting

Arts, Social Sciences & Humanities in a Global Context

Wednesday 29 September – Friday 1 October, Fremantle, WA.

Focussing on key issues around policy, standards, internationalisation and other current issues in higher education.

The conference is set in the picturesque and beguiling town of Fremantle. Easy access to Perth and Margaret River.

Associate Deans (L&T) will have an opportunity to discuss how the Network can be best used to assist in the preparation for standards and performance indicators.  They will also consider the ongoing operation of the Network, collaborations and projects, and regular national meetings.

Combined sessions are programmed for Deans and Associate Deans and concurrent sessions on topics relevant to each group.

Deans’ program begins at 11am and Associate Deans’ at 9am Wednesday 29 September. Both finish at lunchtime Friday 1 October.

Specific sessions for Associate Deans:

• The role of Associate Deans in implementing academic standards
• Knowing our students
• Workshop on managing change and influence
• Operation of the network and election of 2010/11 national committee

Full conference registration will include:

• Access to all sessions and Network of Associate Deans
• Conference cocktail reception
• Conference dinner
• Lunch and morning and afternoon teas
• Conference pack with speaker notes

AD’s need to submit their registration and an invoice for their return air travel plus $200 to the DASSH national office.
