Going Troppo: Imagining Our Futures 
Thanks to James Cook University for hosting a successful DASSH 2011 Conference on beautiful Magnetic Island from 28-30 September. 90 delegates from 37 universities across New Zealand and Australia attended.
Program
The 2011 Conference & AGM Program featured exciting keynote speakers with futures-oriented information about teaching, research and advocacy for the Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities (ASSH). For the first time, Executive Deans and Pro Vice-Chancellors were joined by both the Assoicate Deans Learning and Teaching and Associate Deans Research, offering a comprehensive engagement with all aspects of ASSH work.
The overarching message of the conference was affirmation of what we know of ASSH teaching models, our research status, our ageing workforce, our profile in our universities and communities and our need to action new ways to redefine the value and sustainability of our disciplines. 2011 DASSH Conference Report.
Among the events, Professor Faith Trent was recognized for her outstanding contribution to DASSH.
Associate Dean Support
Associate Deans (Research) can apply for reimbursement of up to 50% of air travel and registration costs and Associate Deans (Teaching & Learning), can apply for reimbursement of up to $700 against travel costs. Send through invoices and receipts to finance@dassh.edu.au by COB 31 October 2011.
